30 Days of Style: Day 17

image image image

Wahoooo!! Friday!! Thank the Lord!! Anyone else got the Friday feeling?

Im not sure what it js about these Topshop Leigh jeans, they are the same size as all my other pairs- which fit like a dream. This pair however, are really baggy, I always forget how much so until I am out of the door and it’s too late. All day I’ve been dying to take them off, I feel they are just really unflattering but just begrudged to throw them in the bin!

Anyway, after that little whinge haha, my jumper is from Topshop, it’s kinda cropped, on the longer version of. It’s a thick, bottle green jumper. I like warm, earthy, natural colours and green falls into this nicely, especially this shade of Green. My belt that you can just about see is just a plain black, Primark belt. Really inexpensive, maybe £2?!

Im going to now enjoy my takeaway curry and look to forward to my lie in tomorrow 🙂

Hope you enjoyed

30 Days of Style: Day 9

I have 20 minutes to kill before my boyfriend meets me, what better way to kill 20 minutes than a cheeky Costa and blogging :-p

I also just went for a quick look around my local boots….2 huge shopping bags later I left haha! Mostly Christmas presents in my defence, however I did pick up a few essentials, conditioner, cleanser, toner you know the drill. I have gone back to my old faithful conditioner from Bleach London: I swear by this stuff….(few hours later now as the Bf showed up early haha) anyway back to my product rave, this conditioner is like liquid gold for the hair, it leaves it soooo soft, and as I have said before I have really dry, coarse, frizzy hair naturally, so it’s a pretty good claim from my picky hair! I will leave the link below so you can read the reviews yourself.

Just incase you wanted to know what other necessities I picked up, I took a quick snap! Boots has 3 for 2 at the moment so I always stock up on things, I like a backup haha! The toner I have used for years, if you have acne prone skin this ones for you, it’s REALLY strong, but does help to clear those unsightly spots, defo not for anyone with dry skin. I use the cleanser as an eye makeup remover, it’s an oil based cleanser and gets every scrap of mascara off in pretty much one swipe, worth every penny in my books. I usually use batiste dry shampoo but fancied trying something new, this Umberto Gianni one had good reviews so thought I would give it a whirl.

Anyway, onto the intended post…outfit! Here is todays choice:

imageimageimageimage

My shirt is from H&M, a flowy polka dot 3/4 sleeve. I love H&M for shirts, they are really inespensive too, think this was about £12! My jeans are ripped Joni jeans from the Petite range and my tartan scarf is from Primark, I was already umming and ahhing when I wore this, now i’ve sen the pics im even less of a fan haha! Its a bit…..limp, short, thin haha!!

Anyway,

Hope you enjoyed

My favourite YouTubers/Bloggers

I love the online world of YouTube & Bloggers. I have watched YouTube for maybe five years now, and I am still as addicted as the first day I watched a Zoella video. It’s amazing to be able to see someone’s life evolve infront of your eyes. A lot of the girls I have watched for years have now gone on to have their own little family, it’s lovely as a viewer to be able to take part in that. We digress…I have listed below a few of my all time favourites for you to have a nosy at if your looking for someone new to watch 🙂

I started watching this channel maybe 18 months ago and fell in love, I literally watch them every day when they upload their daily vlog at 6pm. The channel is SacconeJoly’s. I LOVE Emilia and Eduardo, they are the sweetest, well behaved babies and always dressed impeccably. Anna and Jonathon have really grown their channel, as such they have the privilege at being stay at home parents. I think Anna particularly gets a lot of stick from viewers, this must be hard to take at times, I don’t know if I could handle the nasty comments daily. I would never leave a derogatory comment on a video, if you don’t like it don’t watch it but I guess some people just like that attention they get from it. Anna is gorgeous, every day she makes an effort with her appearance, even if they just have a day at home. Moreover, Anna does also have a blog that co insides the YouTube channel which is more focused on beauty and fashion. I can’t get enough of this YouTube channel, they are definitely high up there on my favourites!

Next up is Hannah Maggs! I started watching this channel again maybe 18 months or so ago, I think their son is about 8 months old now and I started watching from early on in Hannah’s pregnancy. I love how relatable Hannah is, she doesn’t sugar coat things, if days are hard, she will tell you she is struggling which I think is really reassuring to viewers, that not everyday is your best. Her baby; Grayson is adorable, the cutest chunkiest little boy. I don’t think I can mention Hannah’s videos without mentioning her Husband Stefs amazing filmography!! The editing on their videos is definitely the best on YouTube!! I love how strong a bond Stef and Hannah seem to have, as well as man and wife they seem like best friends and this really alludes on their videos 🙂

A break from from the family vlogs now to a fashion/beauty YouTuber. The Persian Babe, Barbara is absolutely stunning, she seems to have really grown in to herself within the last few years. I think Barbara was one of the first people I started to watch on YouTube and I still love watching her videos just as much now as I did then. Barbara’s hauls are second to none, her sense if style is amazing and so diverse. She is one of these girls that can make a bin bag look stylish. She definitely has a look of Kim K too with her new lighter locks.

I know my sister loves this next one probably even more than me. It was my sister that first showed me a YouTube video and I think it was a Beauty Crush video….hooked ever since. Sammi is very similar age to me and I find her so easy to relate to. Sammi’s channel is quite varied, caters for everyone really, fashion, beauty, Vlogs, travel, food. She is so sweet and warm natured, and another that dresses amazingly, as well as having a body to die for! An added bonus is her gorgeous little puppy, Riley 🙂

These are in no particular order to but just what pops in to my mind. My next favourite is DizzyBrunette3, she’s is the typical girl next door type and as her channel hasn’t boomed yet, she is still very relatable to the average 20 something. Corrie is funny in a really ditsy way, I love when she’s seen a celebrity and then says how embarrassingly excited she was. Corrie again does a good mix of vlogs, makeup tutorials, hauls, she also has the best hair on YouTube!!

Back to to the family style vlogs: Dolly Bow Bow. I love how close of a family she has, Kate has just had a little baby boy; Archie with her Fiancée Rickie. Kate used to be infamous for her Primark Hauls when she first started YouTube, these have now evolved to vlogs of her lovely little family. I love watching vlogs with babies, these are definitely my favourite type of video. Although it does sometimes make my boyfriend broody haha! Kate is a typical girly girl, she loves shabby chic, her home decor is the epitome of this. Kate also has her own online shop full of all things girly, from jewellery to floral crowns to candles!

I’ve just seen the size of this blog, I’m not very good at condensing haha, I tend to get carried away and waffle. I’m now just going to list my remaining favourites below:

https://m.youtube.com/user/bellesboutiqueblog – Queen on contouring, also now does new baby vlogs 🙂

image

https://m.youtube.com/user/zoella280390?gl=GB&hl=en-GB – need I add anything else. The queen of YouTube, I love how supportive she is of other YouTubers as well.

Hole you enjoyed 🙂 Who are your favourites?

Everyday makeup routine

Hey,

I though whilst I’m having a Sunday soak I would post my everyday makeup routine…this one will be photo heavy…you have been warned.

I like what I know when it comes to makeup, once I’ve found something that works for me I tend to stick to it, especially when it comes to base.

My morning normally starts looking a something little like this….

image

Hair scraped back, dressing gown on and bare faced. I then start with moisturiser. As I mentioned before, my face is oily and spot prone, so I look for qualities that try help this…

image

I then start on my foundation, buffing it in until it looks as natural as possible. For this, I use the Real Techniques expert face brush.

image

I then conceal under my eyes using the Estée Lauder brush on highlighter. To blend I use the real techniques concealer brush.

image     image

Next step is to set…..I love the Soap & Glory one heck of a blot. I heard Essie Button rave about this and haven’t looked back since. Sets perfectly without looking cakey, again with a Real Technique brush, this is the all over face brush I think.

image

Next…..eyebrows;

image  image image

I like to give them a quick brush through first, then I use my HD palette and draw them in and set with my mac brow set. Usually end up a bit like this:

image

I’ve forgotten where I was now haha…..oh eyes! Eyes are next….

imageimage

imageimage

I always prime my lids, habit now more than anything but I never have an issue with panda eyes, so something’s working. I’m giving primer the credit 🙂 If I’m honest I prefer Urban Decays primer potion, but this works just fine, the consistency is just a little wet for me and I’m not a fan of the applicator. The eye shadows I am wearing at the moment are Patina all over the lid, and then blended out and Nylon on the brow bone and inner corner, both by MAC. I then line by lash line with the Eyeko eyeliner- never budges and line my waterline and tight line with dipdown by MAC. Finally I curl my lashes with the Shu Emura eyelash curlers and apply lashings of mascara.

Final all step is adding some character back into my face with colour.

imageimageimage
image

I use the Estée Lauder bronze goddess to contour my face more than using it as an all over colour. I then apply Nars orgasm blush to the apples of my cheeks and a dusting of the Mary Lou-maniser on the cheekbones. A quick coat of Mac’s Bombshell lipstick and I am set for the day. On average I would say it takes me about 35 minutes to get dressed, hair and makeup in a morning and I end up looking a bit like this….

My Hair Routine

I’ll be honest, I don’t have super soft, thick, shiny hair. Quite the opposite. I have frizzy, dry, unmanageable coarse hair. Think Monica from friends after a blow dry. I have dyed it one too many times over the years, odd use of bleach too, so I probably only have myself to blame. However, over that last, maybe year, I have really tried to give my hair a break and let it repair itself.

On an average week I wash my hair twice; Thursdays and Sundays. I straighten it probably on average once a week, and without fail use a heat protectant, I also let my hair dry naturally instead of blow drying. My hair is wavy naturally but not that gorgeous beachy natural wave, think more like Princess Fiona haha! During the week at work, I tend to tie my hair in just a messy bun so it’s out of the way and I don’t mess with it.

image

So, on a daily basis I use the below products:

image

I’m not loyal to one particular hairspray, I will flitter between what I hear other people rave about or what’s on a promotion. All I really need it to do is tame my frizzies and it does the job just fine. I’m the same with heat protector too, so long as it’s infused with argan oil or Moroccan oil I’m happy to give it a whirl.

However, I am picky with hair oil. I hate those really thick, gloppy, sticky ones that weigh your hair down and make it look greasy! I have tried so many hair oils but this is the only one I have repurchased. This is a brand called ORS from boots, I apply it through the lengths of my hair everyday and it never looks greasy and gives enough moisture to my brittle hair. It’s also really affordable, it’s under the £5 make which is amazing for a decent hair oil. I think it’s aimed at Afro Caribbean hair but for anyone with dry hair this is a winner in my books. If your in need of a new oil check out the boots website and take a look at the reviews, it always scores highly 🙂

The tangle teaser is the best hair invention, ever! This is the only brush that doesn’t pull half my head of hair out with it, it somehow manages to just glide through the knots without snagging.

Toward the end of the week when my hairs due a wash I add a bit of dry shampoo just to give a bit of life, more so to my fringe that anywhere. When I wear my hair down I add this to the roots too as it gives loads of volume. I always use batiste dry shampoo, it doesn’t leave me with that horrible white residue like some tend to do.

WIWW: What I wore Wednesday

image

I thought i would post a little OOTD today, I can take pictures as I get dressed in a morning and blog on my lunch break with these posts. While my phone is broken these posts are best as they don’t really need close up pictures. My I-Pad is shocking quality in general let alone close ups haha! That will teach me for being a cults though huh?!

Anyway, the outfit….my outfit normally has an element of black, it’s so easy to dress around. Today I chose my black loose shirt from Zara, I bought this last year so don’t think this will be in stock anymore but they always have loads of plain shirts on the Zara website at affordable prices. These shirts wash brilliantly (no twisted seams) and an added bonus is no ironing required 🙂

My skort is again last year….sorry, this time from Topshop. I love Tartan in winter, especially this colour Tartan, I like shorts as I don’t have to worry about it riding up during the day like I do a skirt haha!

My boots are from River Island…..I have worn these to death! They are literally perfect for everyday, they have a small enough heel to be uber comfortable and I like the cut out style, I think it just adds a little edge to an otherwise ordinary boot.

image

image

My necklace is a double coin necklace from Topshop, I have seen these on so many celebs and could never find one but managed to pick this one up a few months ago in my local store for £6.50 🙂 My lipstick of the day is Mac’s bombshell: a medium blue toned pink.

image

I tend to wear my hair in a messy low bun most days, I don’t like to use heat on my hair too often so find this the easiest thing to do with it to make it look semi presentable, I’m trying to repair my hair after years of straightening it everyday and dying it every other month!

image

I pretty much have the same makeup routine every morning, I don’t tend to switCh stuff up until I run out and move onto the next thing haha, I do have a FOTD coming up soon though 🙂

Thanks for reading

Mac Lippies…..

image         image

A few years ago I got into the habit of collecting mac lipsticks, among other things, nail varnish, eye shadows (The pan form to fill my empty palettes) I don’t know where the obsession started, probably YouTube haha! At one point I had 30 of them, asif I would ever wear all those. So, about a year ago I decided to sort through them and get rid of the ones I knew I wouldn’t wear.

I’m not particularly brave with bright colours and I would see people with dark purple and think it looked amazing, so I’d buy it and would stand pretty on my dressing table completely untouched because it just wasn’t in my comfort zone to wear it. So, I back to mac’d all the ones I didn’t want and exchanged them for colours I knew I would wear every day.

My favourite..texture…is that the right word haha? I’m going with it anyway, is by far ‘cremesheen’. I like the colour pigment, the staying power and mostly the finish on my lips. To me, it’s quite balmy, moisturising. The other end of this is the ‘matte’ finish which I really don’t like so all those got back to mac’d haha! They are way too drying for me, they make my lips feel scaly and sink into all the fine lines, I suppose if your looking for longevity though over anything else that would be the finish for you.

Of the above shades, my favourites at the moment are;

Crosswires: Cremesheen- This is like a soft red shade, it probably has some orange but I would say it’s definitely more red that orange. It’s definitely not an in your face red, like your lips but better red.

image

Sunny Seol: Cremesheen- I love this one, I think this May have been limited edition turned permanent. This is a very corally colour, it’s the perfect coloured lip for me, it’s not too in your face but it’s a noticeable colour, I like peachy cheeks and bronzer so coral goes really well with by base colours.

image

Pure Zen: Cremesheen- This was definitely an enabled purchase. I heard Hannah Maggs and Corrie from DIzzyBrunette 3 mention this one. This is quite a nude lip, looks great with NARS Turkish delight lip gloss! It’s super easy to wear for everyday.

Girl about Town: Amplified- This is more of an evening/ weekend lipstick for me. I think Cheryl Fernandez (Cole) used to wear this one a lot. It definitely is a blue toned pink; makes your teeth look whiter too 🙂 It’s quite a bright pink so not one I would wear for work really, I prefer this one with a lip brush too whereas the others I use straight from the bullet.

image

Hope you enjoyed today’s post…..I know the picture quality isn’t the best, my phones still with the shop so I’m having to make do with my I- pad which isn’t the best camera in the world 😦
